11/01/10: Damn it, missed the 10th!!! Oh noes.

Mood: Blissed out. Yes I found an emoticon to match it.

Eating: Today I vowed to lay off the chocolates and sweets until I lose a bit of weight/flab/jelly-feeling bits. I looked at myself in the mirror last night after having a shower and nearly vomited. Well, that's a bit of an over reaction. But it sounds funny. So I didn't nearly-vomit, but I have definitely 'pudged' beyond what I really consider acceptable since before Christmas. So. Today I didn't eat a single sweet treat. Aren't I good? Not that it really has to do with this question. I ate a delicious Angus Beef homemade burger around 6pm today (complete with lettuce, bbq sauce, avocado, capsicum and triple cream brie - heh...), and that will be it until tomorrow. Though I forgot to buy bread today so I can't have a nice 'eggs on toast' brekkie tomorrow like I would have been craving. And we bought a lovely tray of eggs at the meat centre too - they're just ITCHING to be EATED. There's like 24 of em!! So it will be a simple banana. Maybe on cornflakes with honey? Might try that instead... I love my eggs though... sad faces...
In answer to the question at hand - a homemade angus beef burger with all the trimmings.
Drinking: Well, I just finished yoga and they recommend drinking at least a litre after doing yoga to swill all the agitated toxins away. I had a glass of water, close enough. Was going to have a nice cuppa tea, but decided it would keep me up. Instead, the blog has kept me up - curses!!
Watching: Haven't watched any tv tonight - well except the news earlier and I got depressed and slightly paranoid at the prospect that the south-east may be flooded before too long. Started panicking and thinking up emergency 'get our precious stuff to safety' plan. Piggies first of course, as they can't swim they would sink. Then TV and Playstation... we figured moving it all upstairs is a safe bet. Unless the building collapses.
Listening to: Whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr of the fan
Just finished: Yoga class earlier. Gee it was zenny. Zenny? Cool word.
After this, I'm going to: bed. Shortest answer in my blogging history I think?
One wish for the day:
For my fabulous flabulous to get shifted easily over the next few weeks - don't want to look at this gut for much longer, I didn't realise how bad it was getting, bleh!!! Fatty boom bastic...

*   *   *   *   *   *   *
So boys and girls, pull up your chairs and let me fill you in on my weekend just gone... if we were looking at a graph right now let's say it started off in the middle... then dooooown.... then plateau.... then down down doooooown... then up.... ok this really doesn't work without a picture and I sure as hell ain't drawing one up. Let's start from the top...
SATURDAY:
Had a sleep in - yays! I get cranky if I don't get at least ONE sleep in on my weekend. Slept in til 9am. Aiming to get away to Brisbane by 12:30pm to meet up with sister-in-law and her boyfriend to see 'Tangled'. As on the train pulling into Brisbane, got a text message from S.I.L. saying.... oh crap, we slept in - we are going to be late, sorry!!! EEEeeerrrrrrgh... "How long will you be?" I tentatively ask. "Don't know, but it will be a while." BLAST IT!!!
So I mosy on into the CBD to potter around to wait for S.I.L. and B.O.S.I.L. It was raining. I went into Broadway to get myself some moolah to get set up for the afternoon. Ask for $60 at the suncorp ATM. It gives me $40 and the receipt says it's taken $60 out. W...T...F.
!!! NOT HAPPY JAN !!!

Fuming, in fact. Could not be arsed trying to get it back so I get yet ANOTHER $20 out of the friggin' ATM and storm up to the Myer Centre to get some food. Got wet walking up as it was raining and people were overkilling the sheltered walking areas.
Sit in the food court with lasagne and gems. At least it was yummy. Tossed around some ideas of how to kill some time. Museum? Southbank? Markets? I decided, in the end, seeing as it was raining... to stay right where I was (for at least a half hour anyway), and do some muchly overdue people watching, and sketching.
Saw one thing that caught my attention and make me guffaw in disgust at the state of the world. See below!
  ABOVE: (From top left anti-clockwise)
  • 2 people having lunch, or what I coined it... 'a double date'... these two people, who should really be engaged in conversation WITH EACH OTHER, were both sitting there, in total silence, each of them sending text messages on their phone, to OTHER people. Fair enough, this moment only last for a few minutes, but it just made me think "WTF is the world coming to???" people do not engage in conversations anymore!! Any awkwardness and its STRAIGHT to the phone - gah!! People, your phone is for calling people... TO TALK TO THEM... or sending text messages. Not to sit on, dawdling on Facebook, checking emails, updating your frickin' Twitter status. You are out, enjoy being out and enjoy being with the people you are with there, in that moment.
Facebook will be there when you go home, sadly. Check it then.
You can survive without your phone.
It is a piece of equipment, not an extra limb. Grrr....
  • The next few sketches are my encounter with the soul sucking ATM... and the following facial expressions I tried to capture... seething... yes very seething... and a few potential hair cuts I'm considering... dreads? Bring back the fringe?...
  • Bottom right image is the only other one worth mentioning. Coming across the bridge (behind some gay guy with some scarily tight pencil jeans.... looked spray painted on... I wondered where his doodle would be? I sure as heck couldn't see it...), I looked over to the museum and giggled when I saw the Tyrannosaurus (??) Rex sitting atop the museum building. I think he looked chuffed being there. The real thing looked a bit menacing but I liked the idea of the dinosaur just lapping it up, like King Kong.
--------- TIME PASSES --------

Muscle my way through Southbank to meet up with SIL and BOSIL at the sushi bar next to movies. Pushing it a bit for time (our showing was full)... we made our way into the cinema... to find it packed to the brim.... bar the usual 'fun-time-for-your-neck' seats way in front. We had no choice. 2nd from the front it was! And YAY the movie was in 3D!!!

Bring on the tension headache...

Apart from the tension headache that smothered me for the following 4 hours 'Tangled' was actually fan-bloody-tastic. The animation was beyond BEAUTIFUL, the story was great and save a few overly slapstick moments, I enjoyed this more than I enjoyed the Princess and the Frog (and FYI, I enjoyed that... a LOT). Plus I cried, like twice. Good sign! Carissa gave me a movie poster of the movie and it is now on our movie poster wall up the stairs. YAY! I give this movie...

So pretty.......... (and p.s. that is the poster that is now donning my wall... booya)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1/2 out of a possible ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (that's 10)

Can't wait to watch it again!!
And for those of you who haven't seen it... FOR GODS SAKE GO AND SEE IT!!!

Worth the overly expensive movie ticket!

After movie, I had to depart and make tracks back home. LONG TRAIN RIDE..... For our friend Ryan had come to visit and had been at our house since 2pm!

Got home, headache pounding in my skull, and the evening begins. Felt better after half an hour at home, I hate the train ride up to Brissie now, I can't believe I did that for nearly 2 years straight. No wonder I got a bit head sick. Anyway...

Had roast pork for dinner (sadly very dry... booo), watched Dispicable Me (crappola) and played many joyous video games well into the evening. I crashed at 12:30am.

Sleep.

SUNDAY:
DREAMWORLD IN THE RAIN DAY WITH MY LADIES!!!

Got to Dreamworld at 11am, and spent the day running riot with Stace and Bec. Our year passes are due to outdate as of next weekend so we were squeezing in ONE. LAST. TRIP!!!!
Thooper Dooper day, loads of rides (though this time we were a bit more educational and went to the Wildlife Experience - commenting on how poor all the enclosures are...) and we didn't go on all the rides we were planning! Missed out on the Giant Drop (oh. Darn...), and the Tower of Terror II.
Though we went on some of the old favourites, like the carosel and the Captain Sturt boat, with icecreams and corny Australian themed tunes blasting out the loud speaker. We saw about 40 eels in the water.. *shudder* some looked a bit mutant...
It rained a lot.
We went on the River Rapids 3 times in a row.... where was the line you ask? THERE WAS NONE!!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! Yes that was pretty cool, though there was some loser climbing out of his seat in the tyre behind us. Sooooo wanted to dob on him... but lost nerve... damn those nerves!
Had feral burger for lunch at the grand cost of $15. Ouchie.
Went on the Claw like 10 times. Wicked fun.
Stace and I went on the Wipeout while Becca went and ... ahem... took photos of us/sat on her phone... there was a MASSIVE black cloud looming, like storm stuff. Stace sat there... and said ... betcha it pisses down as soon as the ride starts.
Man, did it piss down. We looked like we had stepped out of the shower at the end of it. Hysterical!
Saw a crappy magician at 5pm, Matt Hollywood... he was doing awesome card tricks until his stage show (none of us could figure them out... really amazing!), and then boom. Crappy stage show. Oh well!  He did all of 3 bigs tricks, and that was it. BLAH! Stick to the card tricks Mr Hollywood.
Scored a free Sunday paper on the way out. Wanted Churros but couldn't find any fresh ones, boooooOOOOOOOooooooo!!!
Said bye bye to my beautiful ladies, depart in the peeing down rain back home.

Have decided I am having a costume themed birthday party. Famous Dead People. Should be interesting...

.........

And today was Monday, work day. Boring! But oh so busy. Freakin' busy. I was on my own for 2/3's of the day. First day back for a lot of businesses. And they want PAPER. AND THEY WANT IT NOW!!!
So they got paper.
And I did a bit of artwork, but I couldn't be bothered explaining it now because it's well past my blogging deadline and I've written too much again.... pish! Today was semi-ok, nice and quick.
Bring on Tuesday, but no floods please. I don't want to wake up to my guinea pigs punting around in a boot in the morning....
